Time Flies. Pay Attention.
I have noticed as my children have grown that they both exhibit specific personality traits that give me peaks into who they will be as they grow.
My son loves to guide and play with younger children. He’s very tender, and caring with them. He takes his time to explain, and is patient. My son will typically shy away from confrontation, unless it involves someone being bullied, or taken advantage of. He becomes angry and begins to immediately retaliate in order to protect that person.
My daughter prefers to be with people that are older than her. She loves to get into adult conversation, and often finds ways to relate her current situation to what the adults were talking about. She plays a lot by herself, and enjoys activities that give her a chance to express her creativity.
Somehow they find ways to enjoy one another’s company even as their personalities and interests continue to drift apart.
As I watch the two of them play at the park today, I can’t help but smile at the people that they are becoming. I can see the possibilities of what they can become. I don’t know how God will position them to do what he’s placed them on this earth to do. But in this time, I will pay attention, silently watching from the sidelines, and doing my best to understand every personality trait that will make them the best that they can possibly be for this world in the one to come. I can only hope that God will use me help guide them in the best way I can. They’re growing up into such beautiful people❤️
