“Creativity takes Courage” - Henri Matisse, French Artist
Ché Chin King was 6 months old when her Aunt first heard her humming in her crib. No one in the family believed the baby was singing, until to their surprise she began humming during family worship.
At the tender age of 2 she sang her first solo. Then at 4 yrs old she opened for an up and coming artist at the time, named Richard Smallwood. The expectation was for her to continue on this path in music. But her journey took her in a different direction. Even through the years and different careers however, she has always come back to the music.
Ché, largely recognized as ChéButta is an Atlanta based Lyric Coloratura Soprano. She has shared the stage with many gifted artists and instrumentalists from Larnelle Harris to Natalie Ragins!
In 2014 and 2020 she performed and recorded with Atlanta’s Black Nativity Stage Play, an African American telling of the Christmas Nativity story. In 2021 she released a single of her own original music now available on all digital platforms!
Though at times you will catch her singing Jazz, Classical, Bossa Nova, and the blues, she is a Jesus-loving-Gospel-Christian-indie-artist with the effortlessly smooth voice of an angel.
